About Pastor Joe Stansell
Pastor’s Message to the Church
Time seems to not be still and wait on anyone. 2014 has come and gone and 2015 lies before us with all the hopes, dreams, and prayers that this year will be our best ever. One of the ways to make sure that it will be a successful year is to set our eyes on Jesus and put our total confidence in Him to lead us and guide us through the year, whether good comes our way or much trouble. Success and failure is not determined by how high we have climbed, or how low we have slid, but by how faithful we have been to our Glorious Lord. My prayer is that we will have grown deeper in our Relationship to our Lord this coming year, and that the River of Life church family will be united into a close family bond as we serve and worship our Lord together. The Lord is truly the Head of the Church (Col 1:18) and we are His body (1 Cor 12:12), His representatives (IICor 3:2-3), His ambassadors (II Cor 5:20) on planet earth as pilgrims and so-journeyers (I Pet 2:10-11) passing through on our way Home. He longs for a healthy, functional body that He could use to fulfill His Purposes and Plans to reach a lost and a dying world for His glory (Matt 28:18-20). It has been said that 20% of the membership in any given church does 80% of the work. What an unbelievable blessing it would be for every member to find God’s call for their lives in His church, and become faithfully obedient fulfilling God’s will for each life. There is a lot of ministry that goes on behind the scenes that is vitally important for the ongoing of the Church. Paul said in I Cor. 12:18…But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. (22)…Nay, much more those member of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: We need each other as we serve our wonderful Lord.
There is a lot of great things going on in the Church, stemming from precious babies being added to the Nursery to opening a new Adult Sunday School Class geared for anyone who is raising a family, and many opportunities to step up and serve. I rejoice over what God is up to in our Church with the excitement in the Youth Department, the buzz going on in the Women’s Ministry, the Men are planning another Fishing Trip soon, the Worship and Praise Team is the best ever, feeding over 50 families twice a month in the Food Pantry, the Children’s Church ministry is busting out at the seams with up to 30 kids any given Sunday, and the list goes on, but it takes every one of us doing our part to see God’s Church function under the strength and power of His Might. God does not need us, but He gives you the Privilege to be used of Him. I would love to challenge you to join the greatest and most powerful force in the world and that being a functional part of God’s Church. I love my Church Family and pray God’s greatest blessing will be yours as we press on in Jesus Glorious Name.
Because He reigns,
